Item #: WR1184

This is a World War II Japanese Police official's brown leather belt with a two piece brass buckle used during World War II. The buckle used is smooth brass, with the tongue having a sun in the center with rays coming from it, with an applied gold gilt. The buckle retains very little of the gold, it is visible only in the recessed areas. There is no visible makers mark on the buckle. The brown leather belt is in well used, but good condition. There is a tear in the leather, where the front section joins the brass attachment point on the wearer's left side. This is where the sword drop attaches to the belt. There is no makers stamp or arsenal marks on the belt. There is no size stamp visible on the belt, but it measures 30" in length and 1 1/4" wide. The single sword hanger measures 10 1/2" in length and has an attachment hook at the bottom and a brass hook at the top. All the hardware on this belt is brass, and they all share the same mustard patine. The condition of this one shows that it was definitely used. This is a very good example of a brown leather waist belt that was Japan's Police officials during World War II.
