This is a an overseas cap worn by US Army Air Force officer during World War II. The piping identifies this one as used by the Air Force from the Ultramarine Blue and Orange colors. The olive drab color of the cap really makes the piping stand out. This is a private purchase one as there are no clothing labels, size tag or stamps on the inside. The sweatband is still with the cap, but the stitching is broken in two places. The lining inside the cap also leads me to believe this is a private purchase cap, definitely not standard military issue. There is a piece of white cloth pinned to the inside of the cap with the name DD WHITE hand written on it. A single US Army Air Force officer's collar device is pinned to the right side of the cap. The gold gilt is pretty much gone This is just a nice representative cap worn by a US Army Air Force officer during WWII.
