This is an M7 Bayonet made for the M-16 rifle with an M8 scabbard. The M7 is maker marked, with the cross guard being stamped US M7 on the reverse side and B O C on the reverse side. The bayonet has an overall length of 11 7/8", with a blade length of 6 3/4". This bayonet was designed to be used with the M16/M4 platform, but can also be used as a fighting knife or utility knife. The spear point style blade, cross guard and pommel are all parkerized. The two piece grips are made of black plastic and are flawless. The M8 scabbard is in very good condition. The web hanger is equipped with the M1910 style hook, enabling it to be carried from a pistol belt or other web gear equipped with eyelets. The 5 1/2" drop with the 1910 style hanger puts the scabbard in the Korean War era. It has a makers mark, B.M. CO.. The scabbard tip does not have the metal guard to prevent the bayonet from coming through. The metal throat is stamped M8/B.M. CO. This is a Vietnam era combination, is very good condition, and will compliment any bayonet collection.
