WWII US Army Thirteenth Corps Patch

This is a set of US Army Thirteenth Corps patch from the World War II period. The patches measure 2 5/16 across. The patch is round in the shape, having the design of a four leaf clover with a red triangle laid of the clover leaf with a green border. The four leaf clover represents good luck, and as displayed represent the letter X. The red triangle represents the three states within the corps area, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The three sides of the triangle, along with the letter X make up the number thirteen. The US Thirteenth Corps was first constituted on 7 June, 1923 and allocated to the Organized Reserves. It was activated on 7 December, 1942 at Providence, Rhode Island. The Thirteenth Corps fought for 180 days in the European Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for the Rhineland and the Central Europe campaigns. These one piece patches are all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patches, they have never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
