This book was written by Brian L. Davis and originally published in 1971. The narrative is 212 pages, is illustrated with black and white photos and colored plates. This is the first reference book supported by full photographic evidence to cover in detail every aspect of the military uniforms, insignia and accoutrements of the German Army during the time of the Third Reich. This work provides the first serious basis, founded on original research , for the study of an essential aspect of uniform history. The uniforms detailed and illustrated are those of the regular German Army, the Wehrmacht-Heer: the various National Socialist para-military formations and political organizations which were not part of the regular army are not included. Many years of research went into this book. The author had access to official papers, army order and clothing regulations and the result is amazing. This hard back book is in good condition and does not have a dust cover. This is a must have reference for any WWII German uniform collector.
